Ted Danson

Actor/Producer

Ted Danson is an American actor and producer,  who is well known for his role as Sam Malone in the television series “Cheers.” During the show's 11-year run, he won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series from the Primetime Emmy Award in 1990 and 1993. The role also earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in 1989 and 1990. His film appearances include “Three Men and a Baby,” and “three Men and a Little Lady.” He has also starred in TV series such as “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Board to Death,” “Fargo,” and “The Good Place” for which he won Best Actor in a Comedy Series from the Critics’ Choice Television Awards.  He made his debut as a television producer with “When the Bough Break.” Ted is a board member of Oceana, an organization established to alert Americans to the life-threatening hazards created by oil spills, offshore development, toxic wastes, sewage pollution and other ocean abuses.In March 2011, he published his first book, Oceana: Our Endangered Oceans and What We Can Do to Save Them, written with journalist Michael D'Orso.
