Director Michael Russell Gunn will lead a workshop on the work of turning history into film. He will walk through the process of translating historical events to the screen and how filmmakers frame those events to make them land for an audience. Using examples from The Brink of War, he will dig into his own creative approach and the choices behind bringing history to life on screen. He will pull in the stories themselves as teaching tools, showing how a single historical event can be interpreted and communicated through film.
