The Arkansas Cinema Society is teaming with A24 for another spectacular installment in the Sneak Series with critical darling Sorry, Baby, on June 18th at 6:30 pm at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Wednesday Spins will be taking place that evening so swing by for a cocktail and some tunes, courtesy of DJ Nick Hud, before the show. This event is free and open to the public. Register here to reserve your spot.
Sorry, Baby premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. It closed the Directors’ Fortnight section at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and won the Chicago and Seattle Critics Awards at this year’s Festivals. The Hollywood Reporter said, “[T]he film is a disarmingly frank, intimate spin on the female “traumedy” — perceptive and funny and full of feeling.” Deadline declared, “It has provided one of the most assured and heartfelt films not only of this festival, but also one of the most assured and heartfelt films I have seen in a very long time.”
"ACS is excited to welcome audiences back to our Sneaks Series with A24’s upcoming film Sorry, Baby,” said ACS Executive Director Kathryn Tucker. “This special advance screening is a chance for our community to experience one of the year’s most buzzed-about films before its theatrical release. It’s a real treat that we get to show a film that screened at Sundance and Cannes for our audience. It’s exactly what the Sneak Series is all about—bringing bold, boundary-pushing cinema to Arkansas first.”
About Sorry, Baby
"Something bad happened to Agnes. But life goes on… for everyone around her, at least. When a beloved friend visits on the brink of a major milestone, Agnes starts to realize just how stuck she’s been, and begins to work through how to move forward.”
