The Opera House chronicles the moving saga of the Metropolitan Opera's quest for a new home, set against the backdrop of the artists, architects and politicians who shaped the cultural life of New York City in the 50s and 60s. Starring legendary soprano Leontyne Price, the film features rarely seen archival footage and images, recent interviews and a soundtrack of extraordinary Met performances.
Funds raised provide prize money to young singers who win the Arkansas Auditions and will advance to regional and national competitions. National winners earn placement in the Met۪'s young artist development program and a shot at the Met stage.
